Hong Leong Bank logoHong Leong Bank is one of the largest financial groups in the country. It was founded in 1905 by Mr. Lam Ji Chiew and began operations in Kuching, Sarawak under the name of Kwong Lee Mortgage & Remittance Company, which has offered loans on the security of export commodities such as pepper, rubber, and other products.

On 6 May 2011, the bank has announced that it has completed the acquisition of the assets and liabilities of EON Capital Bhd., making it part of the Hong Leong Bank Group.

Currently, the bank has more than 300 sales branches and business centers in Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Vietnam, and a wide variety of alternative and electronic channels, including self-service terminals, call center, online, telephone and mobile banking units.
